Cabbage, cabbage and more cabbage!

SCIENCE WORKSHOP: CHEMISTRY WITH CABBAGE.

Year 6 love cabbage!  At least they did for a short time when they were given the chance to do some interesting experiments with cabbage in class.

Mrs Lorrelly Wilson visited our School and worked with Classes 8, 9 and 10.  She is a scientist with a wealth of knowledge, which she shared with our children and made science such great fun!  It was a totally hands on experience and the children were young scientists for the day.  They tested many things to determine whether they were acids, alkalis or neutral products.  One of the most exciting tasks during the day was when they had to make their own polymer, which they were allowed to take home.  Mrs. Wilson was a pleasure to work with and she complemented our Year 6 on their interest, enthusiasm and work as young scientists.  She was impressed by their knowledge and believes that we have some future scientists at St Bede’s.

Browse ‘Our Gallery’ to see our Year 6 scientists hard at work!  Maybe we have a future scientist in our midst!
