International School Award

St. Bede's Catholic Junior School has been re-accredited with the presigious International School Award.  The application process was led by Mrs. Smith with all staff supporting her during the application.  The International School Award Accreditation Team were thrilled with the outstanding work that the pupils and staff took part in.  They had this to say: 

“An international dimension is firmly embedded in your curriculum, staff professional development programme and whole-school ethos. International work dovetails neatly with your Fair Trade and Eco Trade activities. Your submitted international activities cover a range of subject areas, age groups and regions of the world. They are curriculum-based, contribute to the improvement of educational and learning outcomes, and raise awareness of other countries and cultures, whilst providing opportunity to address issues.  Inter-cultural understanding and a visit to Spain nicely complement curriculum-based language learning.  It is good to see your acknowledgement of the professional development opportunities for staff derived from sharing good practice and joint planning of activities with partners in other countries. You have good plans to sustain and further develop your international and dimension. Congratulations on your International School Award Re-Accreditation!"

Well done to all the staff, children and stake-holders who assisted in this process and particularly to Mrs. Smith who continues to work so hard to ensure that children at St. Bede's truly experience an international dimension to their learning.
