Table Tennis Success

Champions of Merseyside – Year 5/6 Table Tennis

2017 has proven to be an outstanding year for our Table Tennis teams. Having already been crowned champions of Widnes, Halton and Cheshire, we were once again given the honour of representing Halton in the Merseyside School Games. This prestigious event took place on Wednesday 15^th March at the Halton Table Tennis Centre and played host to some of the best players from primary schools from all over the Merseyside region.

All six players in our team thoroughly enjoyed the full day of intense competition and performed beyond all expectations, leaving the event as the champions of Merseyside having defeated a primary school from Sefton 5 – 1 in the final!

As well as a lot of hard work by the children, the success achieved this year can also be attributed to the continuing support from the coaching team at the Halton Table Tennis Centre, notably Andrew Rushton (Former British National Champion and Commonwealth Gold Medallist), who has provided hours of top quality coaching and has really helped to develop their skills and love of Table Tennis.
