Archaeology Rocks!

On Friday 14th July, a group of our most enthusiastic historians were invited to take part in an archaeological dig at Halton Castle. This is the second time that pupils from our school have been invited to work alongside archaeologists from the University of Salford Centre for Applied Archaeology, and our treasure trove of artefacts uncovered was just as impressive as last time. If you would like to view the excavation, you can visit Halton Castle on Sunday 30th July, from 11:00am until 4:00pm, where archaeologists will be on site to talk about the exciting discoveries made. Also on the same day at Norton Priory museum, there will be the opportunity to see one of the skeletons from the 2015 dig as well as finds from this year's excavations. Well done to all the children involved; you were all fabulous archaeologists. I think we may have some young Howard Carters in our midst!
