World Art Day
Children at St. Bede’s were fortunate enough to work with Angela Sidwell - a local artist, who specialises in ceramics. Angela worked with 8 children from each year group on ceramic pieces linked to duets in nature and birdsong. Each year group focused on a different bird and its particular call:
Year 3 – Chaffinch (“Pink pink”)
Year 4 – Blue Tit (“Tsee-tsee-tsee-sit”)
Year 5 – Owl (“Twit” and “Twoo”)
Year 6 – Yellowhammer (“A little bit of bread and no cheese”)
It was a fantastic opportunity for children to learn from a professional artist and work with high-quality materials and tools.
We look forward to receiving the finished pieces once they have been dried and fired.
